Thereafter entombing Ryan Reynolds for more than an hour and thirty minutes in Buried, The Spanish auteur Rodrigo Cortes guides a few remarkable actors through a mysterious course before entombing them by having a heap of psychic meaningless words in Red Lights. Millennium Entertainment that paid a described $6 thousand for rights in North America at Sundance, should think that there happens to be an extensive ample public to select anything broaching the paranormal, as well as the cast crew, led by Sigourney Weaver, Cillian Murphy and Robert De Niro, pressing its means through assorted weird seconds, offers extra enticements. However, discerning audiences are going to observe the name as adequate alert.
Weaver portrays the outstanding PHYSICIAN Margaret Matheson that has spent the majority of her vocation systematically pricking the balloons of supernatural project believers and supporters. In 3 decades, she advises her enthusiastic college students that she has not ever come across a convincing situation of the phenomenon, which maintains specified cable TV networks on the air and numerous reduced meticulous experts in clover.
However, it was even thirty years prior that Margaret had her little second of hesitation, when some unclear hopefulness that an life after death might deliver some reduction her despondently comatose boy happened to be preyed on by the megastar psychic of his age, Simon Silver , who is played by Robert De Niro. Right now, Silver is unaware is arising from his enigmatic seclusion for a collection of community appearances, prompting Margaret as well as her dedicated assistant, PHYSICIAN Tom Buckley , played by Murphy, to burrow down.
For a part of the substantial two-hour jogging time, the writer-director Cortes clears himself frankly to be sufficient by corresponding the genuine interest a lot of people have regarded unexplainable occasions with lucid rejections to purchasing into imaginative magic. He displays a practical talent for building a series using muscular staging, balanced editing and enhancing and heavy-duty tunes.
However, to acquire some baseball jargon, after placing very good timber on the ball, rounding second base, Cortes voyages, is given a faceful of dirt. He is tagged out prior to reaching the next base. In the arousal of stirring up controversy at the elegant in-person occasions, Silver decides to submit to being evaluated at the Scientific Paranormal Analysis Center under the guidance of Margaret's rival, played by Toby Jones. Significantly, nevertheless, especially after among the significant personalities is sidelined, backdrops are dedicated to Buckley rushing around the town as well as wailing at individuals, to increasingly irritating consequence. The ending exemplifies a huge medium finger pointed skyward toward anybody eager of an understandable conclusion; one seems like expanding it right back at the movie.
Directing the first one-half by having a truthful, efficiently articulated effectiveness, Weaver pertains off ideal right here, trailed by Murphy, at the very least in the initial half. Robert De Niro's perplexing seer happens to be a swelled ego, as well as Jones happens to be a satirized antagonist, whereas Elizabeth Olsen's part as a willing investigation associate happens to be an immature tag-along reflection.Shot on sites in or around Barcelona and Toronto, the movie, Red Lights, looks excellent yet has a feel of pride making it all the simpler for it to fall from its own burden. Re-cutting for span, as well as strengthened coherence can only greatly improve matters.
The appropriately named New Year’s Eve is the story of several couples who’s lives come together on New Year’s Eve. With names like Robert De Niro, Aston Kutcher, Sara Jessica Parker and Jessica Biel this is one movie that is not to be missed.
New Year’s Eve has paired some of the most outrageous and unusual couples together which is sure to make the chemistry between each character much more interesting. Jon Bon Jovi and Katherine Heigl seem to have an interesting relationship demonstrated when Heigl slaps Bon Jovi after “planning it for years”.
Zac Efron’s partnership with Michelle Pfeiffer seems to be one that is truly unexpected and leaves many wanting to know if it will last. I for one am doubtful of the sustainability of this cradle robbing affair. But that doesn’t mean that others aren’t rooting for this controversial couple! If anything this will be an ingenious look at a couple attempting to break out of their contrasting generational stereotypes in order to make it work.
The trailer teases Jessica Biel announcing that her water broke to a very excited Seth Myers. The couple rushes to the hospital in hopes of having the first child born in 2012 (and the cash prize that is being given out to the parents of the first child born in the new year).
Aston Kutcher plays a slightly antisocial character dating Lea Michele who has a lively Type A personality. She is seen at the beginning of the trailer telling Kutcher, “Oh c’mon we’ve gotta do something to get you out of your new year’s eve funk”.
While the trailer explained a lot it has still left us in the dark on quite a few things. It was a bit of a shock to that Robert De Niro was nowhere to be seen in the trailer. Could they possibly be using such talent for a secondary character? I think I speak for most Robert De Niro fans when I say that I hope his talent is put to good use. IMBD reports his character as “Dying man in hospital” which leaves a chance that his character is a fundamental part of the story purposely left out of the trailer. Until his part in the story is confirmed we’ll just have to use our imagination.
Don’t forget to go see New Year’s Eve when it comes out on December 9, 2011.

What just happened ?
(My Personal opinion)
Well, what just happened ? that's all I can say. When I heard the blurb for this movie I got all excited, a movie about high powered hollywood movie producer starring Robert De Niro and a comedy to boot.
After watching Robert De Niro in his other comedy roles I'd say that he can definately do comedy but unfortunately from a comedic point of view this movie fails somewhat.
Robert De Niro has hit the spot in his past comedy efforts such as Analyze This and Meet the Fockers but in this movie he fails.
Now don't get me wrong I didn't hate the movie but its more the case that it didn't neccessarily work the way that it should have. The story is simple it's a movie about a hollywood actor struggling to make a movie, cue loads of comedy moments, yes ?
Ermm, no. Thats the problem, where are the comedy moments , its ok, midly entertaining, somewhat amusing in places, but wheres the comedy ?
After past success you would have thought that Robert De Niro would have comedy down to a tee by now but it's not the case with this movie.
Unfortunately De Niro doesn't really shine in this movie as he has done in some of his other roles, his acting is best described as adequete and he is let down by a lack lustre script.
So what promises to be a hilarious comedy about a movie producer trying to get his movie made and the madness that ensues along the way turns out to be a bit of a mess which is at it's best watchable and at worst annoyingly unfunny.
It's a shame because I really wanted to like this movie, it has one of my favourite actors in the lead role, the premise of the story looked good and it should have been the ideal vehicle for some hilarious comic moments so "what just happened?" where did it go wrong ?
Well I think it's shortcomings are a combination of things, one being a poor script. I mean there are a fair few scenes which start out promising where you find yourself waiting for the laughs to come but then all of a sudden the scenes is over and you realise that the laughs just aren't coming. This add's to the frustration of watching such a movie and in the end it makes the movie seem a lot longer than what it actually is.
So that's it really What just Happened? is the kind of movie you really want to like but once you've watched it you'll think that your time could have been a lot better spent doing something else.
